1.
What’s your name?
My name is D.
How to spell your first name and last name?
It’s spelled as...
Where do you come from?
I come from Hangzhou.
Could you tell me something about your hometown?
Okay. Well, first of all, I was born in the city, but moved to the outskirts of town when I was small. Beijing is a fairly large city—a pretty important economic centre actually. It has population of 3million. It s pretty flat, and is situated right on a large lake.
Are you working or still studying? How do you feel it?
I work as teacher in a high school. In my work, I learned how to communicate with my associates; interpersonal relations can be essential to a prospective teacher.
What do you think is the most problem in China?
I think it is the overpopulation. Although China has been carrying out a strict family-planning policy with one family having only one chi}d, the population is already over1. 2hillion and is still growing. It causes not only the shortage of food and shelter supply but also more serious ones such as unemployment, crimes, the lack of education and so on.
2.
A
In recent times, numerous factors have made packaging an important marketing tool. Increased competition and clutter on retail store shelves means that packages now must perform many sales tasks-from attracting attention, to describing the product, to making the sale. Companies are realizing the power of good packaging to create instant consumer recognition of the company or brand. For example, in an average supermarket, which stocks 15,000 to 17,000 items, the typical shopper passes by some 300 items par minute, and 53 percent of all purchases are made on impulse. In this highly competitive environment, the package may be the seller’s last chance to influence buyers. It becomes a "five-second commercial." The Campbell Soup Company estimates that the average shopper sees its familiar red and white can 76 times a year, creating the equivalent of $26 million worth of advertising.
B
Motivating Employees: Employees tend to be more satisfied with their jobs if they are provided (1) compensation that is aligned with their performance, (2) job security, (3) a flexible work schedule,
and (4) employee involvement programs. Firms should offer job security, compensation that is tied to employee performance, more flexible work schedules, and more employee involvement programs. To the extent that job satisfaction can motivate employees to improve their performance, firms may be able to a higher production level by providing greater job satisfaction.
C
To make a living by doing business means you’ll have lo compromise on many occasions. When your company is involved in a price war, which is almost inevitable, it seems to be your only choice to sacrifice benefit in the short run for survival. A stubborn guy who refuses to cut his price would put the whole business at risk. Ensuring the firm is solid should be your first priority.
You can never offend the customers because they’re our providers. On the contrary, you should try
your best to please them. You’re got to remember that customers are always right. Dare you say no to them, your opportunity is gone? They would go immediately to someone who caters to their demands and you’re left out there in the cold.
