Your company is planning to establish a factory with another company in China to make LCO monitors. You have been asked to consider how this could be done.

A: I’d like to talk to you about the possibility of running a factory with another factory to make LCD monitors.
B: OK. A lot of research shows that there is a huge potentiol market for LCD monitors in China and the world as a whole. I’d like to embark on this investment at a moderate rate and a safe scale. My suggestion for the total capital investment is 10 million US dollars.
A: I see. But how much would our share be in this partnership?
B: 50 % , including the construction funds and the cost of all the imported equipment and the engineers, technicians and management staff.
A: Very good. But you know, LCD monitors are increasing in high demand in China. May I suggest that the total capital investment amounts up to 15 million US dollars.
B: All right. I accept it.

(4)—Yes, because taxes may be sizable for a company with a multimillion-dollar investment in facilities and inventory, so it may select a location where tax reductions or exemptions are allowed to new business.
