This graph shows the Canadian advertising spending in 2002 in seven major areas, namely, direct mail, newspapers, TV, magazines, radio, business papers and Internet.
As can be seen from the graph, direct mail cost Canadian $43bn, ranking first in the advertising spending in 2002. Newspapers and TV occupied the second and the third place With the spending of Canadian $40bn and Canadian $37bn respectively. Following these three major areas of advertising spending were magazines and radio; the former consumed Canadian $12bn while the latter took in Canadian $11bn. At the same time, the advertising spending on business papers wa.5 Canadian $ 8bn. The Internet had the least advertising spending in 2002: only Canadian $4bn, less than one-tenth of that of direct mail. (121 words)
