答案 Once a reasonable export trade is established it may be necessary to set up an export office. In order to function efficiently an export office must be properly organized. There are a variety of ways this can be done and much depends on the particular company its products and perhaps on the target export markets. A simple but typical export office may be staffed by an export manager a dispatch clerk and a secretary. The three main functions of an export office can then be divided between them with the manager also taking responsibility for seeing that the other functions of an export office are covered. This type of small firms accounts for a big proportion of the foreign trade companies in foreign countries. In addition the export manager deals with inquiries pricing quotations orders and terms of delivery. He is responsible for dealing with customers salesmen agents and distributors. He is also concerned with the production of goods for export maintaining contact with the factory or the suppliers. He represents the export department of a firm so to speak. We can see how important work experience is from reading job advertisements in the papers. Most employers are looking for candidate with a minimum of two years of relevant work experience. For some intermediate or high-level positions, five or even eight years could be required. If I were a boss, I would certainly like to employ people with know-how rather than people with no experience. As for personal qualities, when a personnel manager is holding an interview, the qualities of an applicant should be considered more than his capabilities. Nowadays, young kids are clever enough to grasp up-to-date technologies, yet they’re growing impatient to become rich. A talented engineer could be liability to a company if his conduct is unscrupulous and unprofessional
