Man: Good morning, Mike Bliss’ office. Can I help you?
Woman: Good morning. This is Janet Bould here, from Sweden Import and Export Co. Ltd. Can I speak to Mike?
Man: I’m Mike. What can I do for you?
Woman: I regret to tell you that I will not be able to meet Draft No.46181 due on April 4th.
Man: May I know the reason?
Woman: My government has put a prohibition on importing drugs of this kind, and consequently we are in temporary difficulties.
Man: What are you going to do then?
Woman: Now that the goods have arrived at the port in China. I’m at present discussing about sales of my imports with two large joint ventures in China.
Man: Do you think they will take the goods?
Woman: I’m quite certain of that. Could you allow me 30 days further to clear my account?
Man: Well. I wish I could, but it’s financially impossible for us to allow you a further 30 days’ credit, for myself have commitment to fulfill.
Woman: I apologise for the inconveniences it has caused. I’ll see what I can do about it.
Man: All right. I’ll allow you ten days further. And if the account is still not settled. I’ll have to make a formal protest.
