答案     According to the chart, the number of consumer complaints about fake products sharply increased from 1990 to 2000. The figure in 1990 is three times than that in 1980. And even worse, the number of complaints doubled yet again in 2000. The figures show that fake products have become a serious problem for both consumers and manufacturers.
    Fake commodities can do lots of harm. Firstly, they not only damage the consumers’ interest, but also threaten their health. Secondly, fake commodities have a negative impact upon the sales of genuine products. Thirdly, consumers hesitate to choose goods even if they are genuine. Fake products make a mess of the regular order of the market.
    We must take severe measures against such fake products. First of all, we should let the consumers recognize the harm of fake commodities and persuade them not to purchase them just because they arc at lower price. Secondly, it is indispensable that we improve the management system and carry out strict law enforcement against such products. As long as we block the manufacturing of fake products, this problem will be well under control and eventually eliminated. What’s more, it is best that consumers be fully aware of their legal rights to claim extra compensation for faulty goods.
    On the whole, it is high time that we wipe out the fake products.
