    Given the opportunity, most people would be delighted to purchase a house or business of their own. Choosing between the two would be very difficult. One provides security while the other offers opportunity. If I were able to purchase only one, I would choose to buy a business because of the chance it would give me to grow and succeed.
    There are several reasons why I think purchasing a business would be a better choice for me. First of all, I would have the opportunity to improve the business and make it more valuable. Usually, the only way to increase the value of a house is to wait for the market to rise and then sell it. Second, if I were successful in my business, I would then have enough money to also buy a house. In this way, I could have both. Finally, I am still young and so can afford to take the risk of choosing a business over a house. If I should be so unfortunate as to fail in my business, I believe that I am resourceful enough to recover.
    In short, a business is a better choice for me than a house because I am at a point in my life when I can afford to take some risks. The opportunity to own a business is also an opportunity to grow. If I am successful, I will gain both profits and experience; if I fail, I will still gain experience. But if I do not take the chance, I will gain neither.  After all, nothing ventured, nothing gained.
