    Some people trust their first impressions about a person’s character because they believe these judgments are generally correct. Other people do not judge a person’s character quickly because they believe first impressions are wrong. Compare these two attitudes. Which of them do you agree with? Support your choice with specific examples.

答案             People Should Not Judge a Person’s Character by First Impressions
    It is quite common in our daily life for some people to like or dislike someone they meet for the very first time merely by first impressions, because they believe first impression is a comparatively correct means to judge a person’s character. However, other people consider that judging a person’s character by first impressions is likely to lead to wrong ideas thus affecting the future behavior. Compare these two attitudes, I tend to agree with the latter.
    Even if someone makes a very good first impression, people should also think about whether he or she really has a good character and is worthy of trust by observing his or her way of doing things. If the original impressions are not so good, it is unwise for people to reach bad conclusions readily. Since the original impressions are sometimes subject to personal preferences, experiences, knowledge, even the weather conditions and other factors, people have to leave themselves some time to judge. For instance, if someone has just suffered from something bad and was in a bad mood, he would hardly make a good impression on any new people he met. In this case, to judge the character of a person in haste relying on the first impression could be error-prone.
    There is a saying that "man knows, time will tell". The first impression should not become the primary criterion for judging a person’s character.
