答案 　　In my understanding, party is a western lifestyle and an indispensable part in western people’s life. Generally speaking, Chinese people are more shy and reserved than their western counterparts, so people tend to have "gatherings" instead of large-scale, big parties. We normally hang out with people we know, such as family members, friends or colleagues so that we can avoid the awkwardness of chatting with strangers. We hold parties or gatherings mostly on traditional festivals, birthdays and anniversaries. However, Chinese young people have parties on more occasions nowadays, for the purpose of socializing or doing business.
