Why does Stephen study whale earwax? [br]
A psychologist with wide-ranging interests, Stephen Trumble studies everything from rats to zebrafish, but these days whale earwax is taking over his Baylor University lab. There are already 30 pieces of it lined up, each requiring about a year’s worth of analysis — and he hopes to obtain five times as many. He’s doing this because hidden in all that wax is information that could tell us how life has been changing for whales and the Arctic in the past 100 years or more.
Jennifer, teamed up with Damon Phillips, to study the records of nearly 400 students who graduated from top U. S. MBA programs in 2008 and 2009 and then went into investment banking. The two researchers constructed a detailed profile of each person, including grades and work history before, during, and after business school. Their analysis revealed that students who had specialized in investment banking throughout were less likely to receive multiple job offers than students who had broader backgrounds and experiences.
