答案                 Birds of Different Features Can Also Flock Together
As the saying goes, "Birds of a feather flock together." It is true that people with common interests are more likely to become friends. However, I believe that birds of different feathers can also flock together. People with different interests, characters and even attitudes towards life can also become good friends.
To begin with, people of different kinds can get along with each other as well as those with the same interests. As an impulsive and quick-tempered person, I myself am surrounded by quite a few friends who are calm and cool-headed. Should any disagreement arise, we always convince ourselves to be more tolerant and still much enjoy the company of each other. There may be fewer quarrels among people who uphold a similar life philosophy, but it does not mean that people with different values are absolutely incompatible. Take Samantha and Charlotte, two good friends in the TV series Sex and the City for example. While Samantha has an open and bold mind on romantic relationships between men and women, Charlotte considers sexual relationships as a serious issue to be talked about only under the table. Despite their opposite attitudes toward sex, they can still get on well by putting themselves in the shoes of each other.
What is more, friendship can be developed between people with different characters as well. With the availability of information resources on TV and the Internet, people are acquainted with whatever they used to be unfamiliar with, thus facilitating communication among people of diverse interests. With communication comes mutual understanding, which without doubt helps to establish a friendship. In addition, the benefits of interacting with people with different interests also lead to the establishment of a friendship. As is known, people of different interests can usually stimulate creative ideas in a conversation and intrigue their companions to learn new things and keep an open mind to different viewpoints. Hence communication between people of different interests is helpful to broaden one’s horizon and to develop more insightful and more sensible attitudes toward life. That’s why more and more people nowadays are willing to make friends with those with diverse hobbies and temperaments.
To conclude, while birds of a feather flock together, birds of different feathers can also get on well and make friends with each other. True friendship is contingent upon mutual tolerance, sufficient understanding and timely support, regardless of their different interests, personalities or attitudes towards life.
