There’s just no point in hiding away in your embarrassment when that embarrassment is itself arising in a situation which helps you learn. Words change meaning, sometimes with alarming speed, so that yesterday’s common use meaning becomes virtually lost overnight as a new usage appears. Where you experience communicating in a language as a challenge, people who use it with ease may deride you, have jokes at your expense and appear unwilling to allow for your limitations.
