Tank and rocket fire thundered through Kabul yesterday as rival Muslim militias battled for control. It is reported that Kabul’s two main hospitals reported three dead and 94 injured. The war escalated on Tuesday as factions exchanged rocket fire with rivals controlling the southern suburbs. Plumes of dust and smoke rose from strategic mountain tops amid an incessant roar of tank and rocket fire. Most people stayed off the streets. Rocket attacks were reported by local newspapers in many parts of the city. At least 20 rockets landed in the northern, suburb which suffered the worst destruction.
