President Obama is flying home after a nine-day Asia-Pacific trip that took him to Hawaii, Australia and Indonesia for a meeting of East Asian leaders. Just hours before he left Indonesia, Mr. Obama and Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao met to discuss economic issues. White House officials said that Mr. Obama called for China to change the value of its money. The two leaders also talked about freedom of sea transport in the South China Sea. Earlier Mr. Wen warned against what he called outside interference in disputes over the South China Sea which also involves the Philippines, Vietnam and some other Asian countries.
