答案         Should Religion Be Taken into Consideration in Assigning University Dormitory?
    A hot topic recently is about a prestigious university that has begun to assign dormitory according to religion. It has aroused different reactions among the public. As far as I’m concerned, it is not necessary to take account of religion while assigning dormitory.
    First things first, students of the same religion living together may elongate the distance between different religions, since it limits the chance for students to get to know each other, blocking the way for them to connect with each other. What’s worse, instead of reducing the conflicts caused by religion, assigning dormitory based on religion may lead to conflicts between students of different religions in that they have few contact, thus more likely to misunderstand each other. In particular, students of minority may feel isolated from other students due to then-small proportion among the total. Therefore, the best way to reduce conflicts is to help them further understand each other by rendering them more chance to communicate with each other, and on the other hand, to impart them with interpersonal skills tp prevent possible conflicts.
    In short, the university’s good intention should be applauded, but at the same time, it ought to take other effective measures to help build a good relationship between students of different religions. Only in this way can all students enjoy a harmonious life on campus and yield abundant results during their college life.
