    College students have to deal with more temptations than their parents did decades ago. Computer games, MTV, parties, social activities... the list could go on. Under this context, it is more important to develop self-discipline among college students.
    First of all, self-discipline keeps our endeavors on track. We might wish to be a professional lawyer, accountant, or interpreter. These professions all require lots of time and efforts. A strong sense of self-discipline would help us fight against the temptations and make sure that we would not lose the limited and valuable time in the distractions from computers or TVs. Secondly, self-discipline shapes students to be persistent and focused. Weak-minded students are easily tempted to give up the arduous pursuit of knowledge and turn to earthly pleasure. Self-discipline, however, urges students to get persistent in their undertakings. This quality, once developed, will benefit us for life. For instance, when we graduate and work in a company, we will stick to the tasks assigned and control ourselves not to slacken or procrastinate.
    In conclusion, self-discipline is helpful to fulfill our dreams and keep us focused and perseverant on the targets.
