答案                   The Competition of Diploma or Parents?
   As can be seen in the picture, two young men are getting ready on the starting line for a race. One, who is a bit fat, is crouching on the top of his parents’ luxurious car. The other, who wears a square college cap, is lashed to a cart, on which sit his poor parents. This picture intends to satirize that a rich father might be more powerful than a degree in contemporary China.
   As far as I am concerned, young people should owe their success to their competence rather than to their parents. To begin with, young people can not depend on their parents all their life. Without competence in work, they will fail to find their feet in society. Moreover, competent young people usually dare to go into competition with others. Though fierce or even cut-throat, the competition will make them better improve themselves, surpass themselves, and succeed eventually, while those who depend on their wealthy parents may not even be able to capture the real meaning of success.
   To sum up, young people should not treat their parents’ support and shelter as the anchor of success. Instead, they should work hard to achieve their own success and be a self-made man.
