问题 Where would Thomas probably go?
W: Good afternoon. Today, we’ll talk about the opinion of the young about unemployment and job expectation. Let’s ask our guest, John?
M: Well, I’m going to study business at college. You see, I don’t think that the unemployment problem will get any better.
W: So how about your friends? Can you show us some examples?
M: Well, the first example is about Thomas. He left university four years ago and he still hasn’t found a job, so he doesn’t think he’ll stay here.
W: So, where’ll he go?
M: Well, he’ll probably go to America. He says there are lots of jobs there.
W: Ok. Any others?
M: I have another friend whose name is Steven. He is going to be a teacher.
W: That sounds very definite.
M: Well, you know, he doesn’t think unemployment will get better but there’ll always be jobs for teachers. When people can’t find jobs, they stay on at school, so they’ll need teachers.
W: That sounds reasonable.
M: Simon, another friend of mine, thinks the problem will get better. He doesn’t think we’ll ever have full employment again, but he thinks there will be more jobs in some areas, like computing.
W: So he wants to work with computers?
M: Yes, he is going to take a computer training course. He’ll probably start it this summer, and he’ll definitely get a job afterwards.
W: That’s very good. Thank you, John.
