    I am very interested in undertaking graduate study in your university. I have read research papers by two of your professors, Dr. Thomas Haily and Mr. Jackson Bay. I’ d like to study under their guidance.
    In September of 1990, I enrolled in the Graduate School of the Tsinghua University as a computer major. Throughout the two years of study I have maintained a GPA of no less than 95. Since graduation in 1992, I have been working in the Computation Center of Shanghai Jiaotong University. I regard this field as a great potential for my country and me. I feel the need to study further in order to develop this potential.
