答案                 Secondary Education in Britain and the US
Both of the two countries have private schools and state schools for secondary education. In Britain, the percentage of pupils in private schools is 7% while in the US it is 15%. Thus, state schools are more popular in Britain. When the pupils turn to be 16 years old, 74% of those in Britain choose to leave school and only 9% go on the full-time higher education while the others will finish their education around 17 or 18. But in the US, 54. 5% pupils continue the higher education and only 6% drop out school at 16 or 39. 5% at 17 - 18. Moreover, 25% pupils in Britain pass A Level and only 40% pass GCSE. On the contrary, pupils obtaining high school diploma are as high as 75% in the US. Therefore, Americans attach greater importance to higher education than the Britons.
