    Today, the electronic dictionary has become a very useful tool for students who learn English. Compared with the traditional dictionary, the advantage of the electronic dictionary are obvious.
    For one thing, it is small in size and light in weight, which means it is more handy and convenient. For another, it can read words and store countless words.
    The electronic dictionary, however, has the following shortcomings. In the first place, it does not provide detailed explanation of the words. In the second place, it is easy for a student to forget a word as easily as to look up a word in an electronic dictionary. What’s worse, if a student is much too attached to it, he may develop the habit of laziness and form a passive attitude towards learning
    Based on the advantages and disadvantages discussed above, it is desirable for people to combine the use of the electronic and traditional paper dictionaries.
