    For most university students, dormitory life is a new experience. They have never lived away from their parents before coming to university. They have always had their parents to depend on for advice and guidance. When they arrive at university, their lives begun to change.
    The most striking difference between home life and dormitory life is that students must learn to organize their lives all on their own: to get up in the morning on time for class, to eat properly, to keep neat and tidy, and to set aside an appropriate amount of time for both study and relaxation. Students must also begin to manage their expenditure on campus, making both ends meet. All of these responsibilities will help foster independence in students and prepare them for adult life.
    In general, there are both good and bad points about life in a students’ dormitory. Often, dormitory rooms, shared by several students, are small and crowded. Consequently inconveniences may arise and one’s privacy is hard to keep. On the other hand, students have much more freedom when living in a dormitory than they might have at home when being watched over by the parents. Furthermore, it is easy and convenient for the students to make real intimate friends since they stay on campus.
