答案                       Which Is More Important, Health or Wealth?
    Like elsewhere, in China there is controversy over the issue: which is more important, health or wealth? Different people with different experiences hold different opinions. And individuals in different social statues give different answers.
    Young people argue that health is more important than wealth; for it seems that they are in a bad need of money. "No money, no happiness" is likely to be a widely accepted thought among juveniles. In their eyes, nothing but wealth is important.
    In their lives, they believe money makes the world go. Everything can be obtained, including health only if they are wealthy. Their goal of life is to get more wealth at the expense of their health.
    Senior people always care more for heath than wealth because they are apt to think that by being in good health, they are able to enjoy their wealth they have accumulated over the decades, or live their comfortable lives even if they are not well off enough. They learn from their experiences that health provides the basis for both happiness and wealth. They claim that health is the basis of everything to people. If they lose health, they will lose all, including wealth. In other words, so long as they are healthy, they are most likely to accumulate wealth. One’s ultimate aim of life is not to gain wealth. Only healthy people are happy indeed.
    I’m in my late thirties. I think that either of the opinions goes to the extreme. Health and wealth do not contradict each other, and yet they may agree with one another. Whether your priority is given to wealth or health, your opinion depends largely on either your age or your financial background. A healthy person can be wealthy and a wealthy one be healthy. Both health and wealth are equally important.
