M: Hello, Prof. Diana, you wanted to see me?
W: Oh, yes, Frank. Thanks for coming.
M: That’s all right. I’m quite nervous. Jack sounds weird when he noticed me this.
W: You shouldn’t be.(1)It’s about your work as a teaching assistant. I’ve just read your evaluations, the ones the students filled out toward the end of the semester.
M: Yes...?(1)Were they terrible?
W: (l)No, not at all.
M: Well, how were they?
W: Would you like to take a look?(1)Out of a possible score of five, you got a four point eight. That’s very high, Frank.
M: Well, what a pleasant surprise.
W: (2)When we see such a high score, we generally try to keep the teaching assistant on a little longer and perhaps even ask them to cover more classes. What do you say, Frank? Would you like this?
M: (3)I sure would, but I don’t know if I can. Next fall will be my last semester of course work for my master’s and I’ll be very busy doing research on my thesis.(3)Could I have a few days to think about it?
W: Certainly, I wouldn’t want you to fall behind in your course work,(4)but I do think you should consider getting more experience in the classroom. You seem to have a real gift.
M: Thanks for your praise, Professor.
W: Let me know by the beginning of next week, will you?
M: Sure thing. I’ll drop by again on Monday or Tuesday.
Questions 1 to 4 are based on the conversation you have just heard.
1. How about the students’ evaluation of Frank?
2. What does Prof. Diana offer Frank?
3. What’s Frank’s answer to Prof. Dianna’s offer?
4. What is the gift the professor refers to?
选项
A、He is an excellent teacher.
B、He is a terrible teacher.
C、The students gave him a not high point.
D、The students gave him a low point.
答案
A
解析
推理题。题目问学生对弗兰克的评价。对话中男士问“Were they terrible?”女士回答说“No,not at all.”并且说“Outof a possible score of five,you got a four point eight.That’s veryhigh,Frank.”可知,学生对弗兰克的评价是很高的,由此可推出弗兰克是一位优秀的老师。故选A。
