    Nowadays, idol worship is a popular phenomenon among the young who tend to worship stars in the entertainment circle. Michael Jackson, a popular singer in the US, attracted 28 million fans every year to participate in his live concert.
    Young people squander a wealth of time and money on idol worship. To begin with, they always spend too much time in collecting news and information of their favorite stars from TV, newspapers and the Internet. Once there is a chance for them to meet their idols, they will go at all costs and forget about their study or work. What’s more, young people may easily make blind consumption for their idols. According to a recent survey conducted by Economy Weekly, the sales volume of a certain brand of chewing gum increased sharply from $1,220,000 to $4,238,000 in two weeks after the company invited one of the most popular singers to endorse that product.
    Instead of just appreciating the stars’ appearance or performance, young people should learn to explore the real factors of the stars’ success and get self-improvement by learning from their idols.
