    As regards the choice between lecture teaching and discussion teaching, a heated discussion has arisen among college students. Students who lend their support to lecture teaching argue that lectures save their time and energy, helping them absorb knowledge more efficiently. What’s more, under the guidance of trained teachers, students’ vision can be broadened so that they can get access to more knowledge.
    By contrast, others hold that discussion teaching is of greater necessity. China Daily published a national-wide survey—more than 83. 8% of students admit that discussions help them cultivate the ability of analysis and problem-solving and even stimulate their creativity. In addition, students’ ability of communication can be enhanced further, which is absolutely beneficial to their future career.
    As far as I am concerned, both lecture teaching and discussion teaching have respective advantages. The former is better for big classes and knowledge-oriented subjects, while the latter is more suitable for small classes and skill-oriented subjects.
