问题     There are many points of view on the present condition of the world we live in and its future. One very strong attitude is that【S1】______are causing problems for themselves and for the rest of the【S2】______and animal world. In this view, unless we all change our way of living, the future will be either unpleasant or impossible. There will be too many people trying to live off too few resources in an atmosphere and an environment that is unhealthy and unendurable. This, the【S3】______view, looks at how a small【S4】______of the people on the earth now use most of its energy and resources, while the rest of the people produce too many children. All of us are using up and killing what is good and creating mostly problems for the future.

In this, the【S7】______view, problems of not enough food and resources are seen as challenges that need to overcome with our intelligence and technology, just as we always have.【S8】______between people are not important, however, because even the poorest of people alive today are healthier, and have more opportunities than any who has ever lived before.
    There are no easy answers to the questions these two sides raise.
