    I’m a sophomore. Except for an allowance of 50yuan offered regularly by our university, I need another 350 yuan to sustain my life here. With the rise in prices of food, more than 63% of my daily expense is spent on meals and fruit and sometimes some snacks. The percentage of daily necessities is about 12%, clothes and cosmetics 10%, books and fees for all kinds of exams 7% and costs on entertainment about 8%.
    Most of my money is from my parents, which is a total of 300yuan per month. I try to live within it. But sometimes I have to do some part-time jobs such as being a tutor to make up for that amount.
    My expense is just about the average. Students from countryside have to cut down their cost to 300yuan or so; they seldom buy other things except those for food and study. However those from metropolitan cities buy themselves all kinds of fashionable goods such as MP3, portable computers and so on; they spend several hundred Yuan on a single pair of sports shoes in a famous brand name, which is too luxurious, in my opinion.
    As far as I’m concerned, universities should take some effective measures to give the students a guide so that they can spend their money more properly and efficiently. Meanwhile, we students should also learn how to use money more reasonably and how to live with our own hands, which is very important in our future lives.
