问题 Higher Education for All

2.这一做法有许多好处
3.同时,放宽年龄限制也带来了一些问题

选项

答案                     Higher Education for All
In China, being below 25 and unmarried were necessary conditions for a college applicant. But starting from 2001, there haven’t been such rules any more. Middle-aged even elderly applicants may compete with students about 18 for admission to colleges. This extraordinary event has been a result of the abolition of age limit of college applicants.
Lifting the restrictions on age and marital status will pave the way for developing higher education and lifelong education. Such practice has some advantages. On the one hand, it enables more people to receive a formal higher education in China, where the overall quality of its human resources is quite low. On the other hand, young students may benefit from studying with adult students.
However, some experts also admit that this policy will cause problems relating to the management of schools. Besides, some parents worry that the admission of those adults into the college might reduce their children’s chances of getting into colleges. Despite these problems, restrictions are being loosened and more and more adult students will study in colleges and universities.
