    There seems to be a difficult problem about whether we should develop highways or public transportation. Some people argue that highways can save much more time than public transportation. Others think that it is good for environment to develop public transportation. However, after carefully pondering, I believe that more money should be invested in public transportation.
    The reasons can be listed as follows. To begin with, there is no denying that improving public transportation will surely alleviate the pollution caused by numerous cars. In addition, developed public transportation will decrease the frequency of traffic jams. Traffic jams not only cost people the time and expenses, but also create a bad mood for work. Last but not least, improving public transportation provides ways of transportation for most of poor people who cannot afford to buy a car.
    To sum up, governments should spend money in improving public transportation because it can not only protect environment and save time for people, but also create a convenient environment for all the citizens.
