    With the advent of the epoch of knowledge economy , the protection of the intellectual property rights has become increasingly important nowadays.
    Protecting intellectual property rights needs joint efforts of the government and the individual citizens. To begin with, the government should perfect the legal system to make sure there will be a comprehensive set of laws and regulations. Besides, the government should supervise the implementation of the related laws and regulations. What’s more, the individual should fight with tortious acts, for instance, say no to pirated books, pirated compact discs, etc.
    To sum up, intellectual property rights, as the respect for one’s creations of the mind are important rights of citizens. I believe the future of protecting intellectual property rights will be hopeful with the joint efforts of the government and the individual.
