答案
[Student A] Have you read the "University and School Regulations"?
[Student B] Yes, anything interesting?
[Student A] Yes. I found the regulations about religious holidays very interesting, aren’t they?
[Student B] Yeah, I know. I think it’s a very good regulation, since it helps to guarantee the students’ religious freedom.
[Student A] Yes, you’re right. But that will make the scheduling of academic activities difficult.
[Student B] Well, that depends. Which is more important? Personally, I believe one’s religious belief is one of the most important things in his life. The arrangement of academic activities, such as lectures, examination, should not affect the students’ religious freedom. Besides, that will not give the officers of administration or of instruction, who are responsible for the scheduling of academic activities, too much workload, if... I mean, if they are knowledgeable about the various religious holidays. They can avoid conflict with religious holidays as much as possible.
[Student A] Yes, I agree with you to a great extent. But I still think that may cause a lot of confusion. There are so many students, you know. And many of them have different religious backgrounds. Anyway, it is good to show respect to individuality.
[Student B] That’s great.
Q: The woman expresses her opinion of the regulation. State her opinion and explain the reasons she gives for holding that opinion.
