   Some young people might think that only a spontaneous person will be able to
survive in this chaotic and disorganized modern world. However, I think young people
need to be able to plan and organize effectively as life is getting increasingly complex
and busy. In my view, being an organized person is the only way they can succeed in
both academic and professional settings in the long run.
   First and foremost, young people need organization skills to succeed with their
studies. Years ago, students had very limited options, and most people followed the
same basic course of study. But these days, students at college and even high school
have dozens of different options to choose from, ranging from IT classes to foreign
languages and technical skills. The way students are assessed has also changed
greatly. In the past, exams were the only real form of assessment. These days,
students have to do written essays, Internet-based papers, multimedia assignments,
presentations, group work and more. With such a wide variety of skills being tested,
and so many different deadlines to keep on top of, students require superb planning
and organization skills these days.
   Additionally, good planning and management are needed in order to fashion
a promising career path. In the modern world, there are thousands of new career
options available to young people. But recognizing all the opportunities that are
available and understanding how to make the most of them are difficult tasks.
Whereas in the past young people could succeed with just a generally good
academic background, they now need to have specific credentials, including
particular skills and experience. For instance, those wishing to forge a career in
the civil service may require foreign language skills, or experience volunteering in
community organizations.
   To conclude, I think it is fair to say that young people need to plan and organize
effectively to thrive in the modern world. Study options and career prospects are now
so complex that young people need to make and follow a set plan in order to enjoy
success.
