M: Anna, you look worried!
W: Yes, I am. We’re supposed to read Babbit for my English Literature class and...
M: .. .and you never had a chance to read it, right?
W: Very funny. No, it’s just that the bookstore is sold out of all their copies and the library copy was just checked out yesterday. So I don’t have a book and can’t find one!
M: If that is a problem, I believe you can order the book online.
W: I know that. But it’ll take them probably a week to deliver it. I’ll barely have enough time to read it before we have to discuss it in class, AND write a paper too.
M: True. How about just buy a used book? This town has a couple of used book shops. You’re bound to find Babbit somewhere.
W: A used book? No thanks. A used book will probably have notes written by other students. I prefer taking my own notes, in my own nice, clean book. Other people’s ideas distract me.
M: Oh, well... in any case, I hope you get it figured out.
