    Do you plan to take the entrance examination for postgraduate study, or to find a job? It is a choice that almost all university graduates have to face nowadays. After careful consideration, I believe that pursuing postgraduate study is more suitable for me.
    First and foremost, pursuing postgraduate study can allow me to learn more knowledge. I am always fascinated by things that I do not know, and dream to be a learned person. If I stay at university for three more years, I certainly can know more about English, especially about English literature. What’s more, postgraduate study will not only expand my knowledge scope, but also enhance the knowledge quality. Undergraduate students spend most time learning facts, but postgraduate students will learn about understanding, evaluating, and criticizing. Therefore, after postgraduate study, I will be better at research work and judging different opinions. This is of a higher level than the knowledge of undergraduate students.
    The second reason, which is more practical, is that pursuing postgraduate study can secure a better job. Since universities in China have tried to admit more students, the competition in the job market is becoming more and more fierce. Every year, universities turn out hundreds of thousands of graduates, but there are simply not enough job opportunities for them. In such a situation, well-paid jobs are virtually impossible for an undergraduate. If I finish my postgraduate study, I will be able to compete with better qualifications, and I will certainly hold more chances to get a better job.
    The third reason, which I would hesitate to admit, is that I don’t think I am ready for the society. Although I am already an adult, my four years of adult life is spent entirely on campus, which is little similar to the real society. I am afraid that if I started working now, I would not be able to handle the complex situations in the society well. I suppose that if I can go on studying, I can try to understand and experiment with the society in the next three years. I believe I will cope with the society well by the end of the three years.
    In a word, to acquire more knowledge, to get a better job, and to prepare myself better for the society are the three major reasons why I choose to go on studying. I know postgraduate study may be challenging, but I expect that when I finish it, I will achieve these three targets, and feel delighted that I have found the correct answer for myself.
