The United States decided to take measures to ensure the security of its embassies when
The US State Department says at least 150 of its embassies around the world do not meet America’s security standards. Sarah Morris reports from Washington.
The United States State Department has spent 4 billion dollars on measures to protect buildings and staff at its foreign embassies and consulates over the last decade. Despite this, it’s now estimated that at least 150 US missions abroad have not attained designated safety standards according to documents obtained by the AP News Agency. The move to improve security was spurred by the attacks on the American embassies in Kenya and Tanzania a decade ago, in which 231 people were killed.
选项
A、at least 150 American embassies were found not to meet its security standards.
B、the AP News Agency reported the security standards of its foreign embassies.
C、its embassies in Kenya and Tanzania were assailed 10 years ago.
D、at least 4 billion dollars were found missing in its embassy in Kenya.
答案
C
解析
事实细节题。新闻结尾处提到,10年前美国驻肯尼亚和坦桑尼亚大使馆曾遭袭击,造成231人死亡,这两起事件促使美国开始采取措施以提高其驻外大使馆的安全性。故C正确。
