    Magazines and newspapers are never tired of telling stories about people who succeed quickly by taking risks. However, the problem is that, while sometimes one can win a fortune, one can also lose everything. Careful planning helps to reduce the former possibility. Therefore, I strongly adhere to the belief that success in life comes as a result of careful planning with a little risk.
    Firstly, careful planning is a requisite part of achieving success. As we all know, a detailed and specific plan with clear purpose will conduce to identify our goals and the steps we must take to achieve them. For example, if we expect to enter a famous university, we should be clear about our aim, such as which university we’ d like to attend. Then we should search for the information addressed by the university and make a suitable plan which will practically help us meet the demands of that university. Next, we should follow our plan and make achievements step by step.
    Secondly, taking chances is necessary on the way to success. Primarily speaking, taking risks means that at that time we’re not sure about the outcome of our action and the possibility of failure. To be frank, nobody can be sure about the final result until it really happens, and if we dare not try, success will never knock at our door. Before taking risk, we should first distinguish risk from danger. Risk refers to the uncertainty, while danger refers to the state in which we may lose everthing or be badly hurt. It is common to mistake risk for danger, so we are always reluctant to take risks in fear of bad consequences. If we realize that failure is acceptable, why not go and try. Anyway, many may feel miserable for losing a game, but none can win it without having a try.
    To sum up, careful planning is important for success. However, we should keep it in mind that nothing ventured, nothing gained. Therefore, the most efficient way to success is to plan carefully and carry it out bravely.
