答案                    Classroom Participation Should Be Encouraged
    Some teachers and students prefer to have classes where a prepared lecture is delivered without students’ discussion. That is a quite efficient way to acquire knowledge. However, as the saying goes, "teach me and I forget, involve me and I learn", I think the more efficient way is a class in which classroom participation is encouraged.
     I prefer to participate in class for several reasons. One is that student participation makes the class more lively and interesting. Not only can students hear the teacher’s opinion, but also they can learn those of the classmates’. This often leads to meaningful discussion. Another reason is that the teacher can know the students better when they interact with him or her in class. Rather than wait for exam results to indicate how much the students have absorbed, the teacher is able to know immediately the students understand what is talked about by this classroom interaction. Last but not least, by encouraging classroom participation, teaching is individualized to some degree, because students can ask more in-depth questions, or express their confusion about certain points.
     With all these benefits, I strongly believe that a class with student participation encouraged is the best learning environment for students. Therefore, class room participation should be encouraged.
