A fist fight, for example, is certainly conflict between two people. Competition for the job of head cheerleader or class president is also conflict among people. But there are quiet conflicts between children and parents, and students and teachers. There are conflicts over jobs in business.
     People also find conflict within themselves. A guilty conscience is a form of inner conflict. Struggling to decide what to do in a certain situation is also a personal conflict. All of these questions that require soul- searching and decision-making are personal or inner conflicts.

And fighting a swift river on a raft is also conflict with nature. Finally, a person may be in conflict with society. This would describe a criminal with a grudge against the world.
