Israeli warplanes have bombed a Syrian radar station in Lebanon, wounding two Syrian soldiers. Ross Dunn in Jerusalem reports the raid was in retaliation for attack against Israel by members of the militant Islamic group Hezbollah. Eyewitnesses in Lebanon say the Israeli planes targeted a Syrian radar station south of Baalbek, in the strategic Bekaa Valley. Syria, which has some 30-thousand troops stationed in the whole of Lebanon, has a large concentration of soldiers in the area.
    An Israeli Cabinet statement says the attack was in response to Hezbollah’s cross-border raid against Israel on Friday, which left two Israeli soldiers injured, one of them seriously.
