答案             Pros and Cons for On-line Activities with Registered Identity
Internet is now joining in, if not replacing , the traditional media to provide news and information of all sorts. The most distinguishing feature of Internet compared with other media is the "two-way" communication function. Accompanying the popularity of Internet is the heated discussion about whether registry of identity should be required.
Those supporting such a policy would argue about the responsibility for one’s own remarks and behaviors, even when it is in a world eliminating face-to-face communications. And such a sense of responsibility can not be felt if people feel that they are hiding behind the screen and get away with whatever they do on the Internet . And those against such a measurement are playing the card or privacy and people’s rights to express their own ideas freely. Difficulty created by this policy for people to get engaged may stand in the way or Internet playing an increasing role in our society.
With the above analysis, I can come to a natural conclusion that registered identity on Internet may be an unstoppable trend in certain areas, especially when netizens are no longer only recipient of information, but also creators and active communicators of news and other information, such as in blogs and so on. But all this should be done given the guarantee that personal freedom and privacy is respected.
