A British journalist has been shot dead in Baghdad just hours after a remote-controlled bomb killed seven recruits from a new U. S.-backed Iraqi police force. The shooting victim, a freelance journalist, was hit outside the Iraqi National Museum,  the spot where a U. S. soldier was shot dead by a sniper two days earlier. The seven police recruits were killed in the town of Ramadi, west of Baghdad, at a graduation ceremony.
