    Balance Education Resources
Recent National Bureau of Statistics data indicates that, while housing prices across the country are falling, property prices in the school districts of some regions are still rising. A 4.4-square-meter space in a Beijing school district was sold for a whopping 1.35 million yuan ($220,300). The space, in fact, a small room, is nothing but a "passport" for the buyer’s child to get admitted to a so-called elite school in the area. Many parents believe that getting their children enrolled in a good school is a ticket to a bright future not only in education, but also other spheres of life.
Since the problem has arisen because of the unbalanced distribution of educational resources, local governments should take measures to correct the imbalance. Given the narrow outlook on political performance, some local governments have used available educational resources to forge a number of so-called elite schools and left others poorly equipped in hardware or software or both.
It has been proved beyond doubt that poor education perpetuates poverty. If local governments keep using a major part of the educational resources on a small group of schools, how can we build a harmonious society? Every child is entitled to quality education. And this should no longer be confined to paper.

答案     Inadvisable to Divide Elite Schools from General Schools
Data from the authority indicates that although housing prices all over the country are falling, the housing prices of school districts are still on the rise. The problem rises as educational resources are unevenly distributed by some local governments. In my opinion, dividing elite schools from other schools in elementary education is not advisable.
To begin with, balanced distribution of educational resources is beneficial to the whole educational system. A cluster of first-tier teachers can indeed build a prestigious school, but only one or two schools of first echelon are not enough to support and promote the whole educational system. However, with the balanced distribution of those teachers, the overall quality of schools can be promoted, and that in turn, will benefit the overall quality of the whole educational system. Besides, dividing elite schools from general schools widens the gap between the rich and the poor. In elite school, students, usually the rich, not only receive the better education, but also make friends with people of a prominent family. Meanwhile, in general schools, students, usually the poor, make acquaintance with troubled teenagers who will affect their study or sometimes even their lives adversely. Consequently, the rich become even richer, while the poor are left struggling at the bottom.
In conclusion, dividing elite schools from general schools in elementary education is not only detrimental to the educational system, but also widens the gap between the poor and the rich.
