On Dieting
It always baffles me why girls would go on extreme diets to keep slim. They only feed on a morsel of cheese when they are about to faint and except for that, they refuse to take in any food. Excessive dieting, according to my opinion, is not encouraged, while healthy dieting should be advocated.
On the one hand, excessive dieting is harmful to our health. When we consume less food than the body requires, we will end up with being under-nutritious, which in turn leads to malfunction of the body. Dizziness, depression and stomach problems are experienced by those who stick to "one cheese bite a day". If teenagers adopt this dieting method, it might impair their growth and mess up the metabolism. The consequences are dire and hard to be reversed. On the other hand, dieting in a healthy way should be encouraged. Many people are suffering from obesity and lots of health problems related to their weights. If they go on a healthy dieting and watch their intake of calorie, they will cut down the weight and the medical bills.
In conclusion, dieting is a blessing for obese people but a curse for already slim ladies. We should decide whether to go on a diet based on our own body condition.
