W: What do diet doctors, TV meteorologists and pet psychics have in common? Fortune magazine columnist and workplace expert Stanley Bing says, they are all jobs that pay well, are highly respected and perhaps most importantly, they take a very special skill set to acquire. Mr.Bing explains his job theory in a new book. Its title, we can’t say now. So let’s just call it the 100 Jobs and How to Get Them. Stanley Bing, good morning. Good to see you.
   M: Nice to see you.
W: You are in fact an executive vice president.
   M: Oh, yes.
W: One would think a title of a book like this is just something you might make up on the train as you are commuting into New York every day. But this is in fact based on serious scientific data, is it not?
M: It is. I felt it was important to get the exact number for every job that we are talking about. I say this kind of job is... er...you know what it is and people actually kind of yearn to have one.
W: I’m gonna call them B.S.jobs. Those are jobs you yearn for?
M: Maybe some people don’t, but I personally do. I’m one of those who do yearn.
W: What...what is the ultimate one as far as you’re concerned? Who has or what is the ultimate B.S.job?
M: Well, the person who has the highest number in the book is... is Donald Trump, oh, because he is kind of the gold standard. The top beta factor for these jobs is 200, and he has the highest. The higher the number is, the more special skills the job needs. But there are also a lot of executive vice presidents of new media. You know, they can work for 5 years and not know what they’re doing and never have to prove themselves with a high number.
W: What do you mean by the number of the beta factor?
M: It’s decided by your working hours and salaries. The bigger the number of hours that you get, the likely the lower the beta factor.
W: So you want low hours and high money.
   M: Yeah, you are right.
W: Now what would you say about executive producers’ number?
M: Executive producers are not yet included in the book. But I am working on an extended list. Maybe it will be number 103 or 104.
W: Then it would be in the online edition. By the way, what number do you give to your job?
   M: Mine is...my beta factor is 127.
   W: Wow, that’s a good number.
M: Yeah. At the very beginning, the number is not good. I’ve been working hard for a long time. I would say that at the beginning of that it could be low, you know, and then after you work on it for a while, you can get up to 180, you know.
W: Then that will be a B.S.job. All right, as always, good you could be here.
   M: Thank you.
