I think by traveling you get to learn about different cultures first-hand. While you can always read a book about Thailand, there is something special about breathing in the stench of Durian fruit in person. Once you experience cultural differences firsthand, you can begin to understand where other people are coming from. Sandy (The UK)
Along with learning about a culture’s traditions and foods you can also immerse yourself in their language. Perhaps you studied French in school or maybe you’ve always wanted to learn Swahili. This is your time to go learn it and use it! Patrick (Germany)
I would not recommend traveling abroad. When traveling abroad, you usually don’t have insurance. Not having insurance means that if you get sick you can’t afford a doctor. Worse yet would be traveling in a third world country with very little medical care available. It means you are risking your life to traveling.

答案     The Benefits of Traveling Abroad
As we have more money to dispose, we tend to enjoy our vacations abroad. Admittedly, many people believe that traveling abroad has a lot of benefits, among which are experiencing a country’s culture, traditions, foods and even learning its language. However, some people hold a different opinion. They argue that without a medical insurance, traveling abroad is equated with risking our lives. From my perspective, the advantages of traveling abroad over-weigh its disadvantages.
First of all, traveling abroad enables us to broaden our view. We are no longer confined to the landscape and culture of one nation. Instead, we will be greeted by exotic folk culture and sceneries, which will trigger us to learn more about the destination. Bit by bit, as we travel across many different nations, we will be more acutely aware of the varieties of cultures in the world. Secondly, traveling abroad is a character-building experience for us, especially for young people. A person who travels a lot is usually independent, tolerant and resilient. Because of the different customs and beliefs between the foreign culture and the home culture, one needs to adapt quickly to the local culture. "Do in Rome as the Romans do". Besides, the more you are exposed to the foreign lands, the more you are aware of the cultural differences. Therefore, you will be more tolerant with different people and customs along the way.
In conclusion, traveling abroad is advantageous. It brings you "seeing eyes" to see the ever-changing sceneries and an "open mind" to experience and embrace the world.
