The United Nations top diplomat in Afghanistan is calling for peace talks with the Taliban’s top leaders. Kai Eide spoke to reporters in Kabul. Taliban leader, Mullah Omar has rejected the offer. The Taliban leader says no talks can take place as long as the American-led coalition forces remained in Afghanistan.

American astronauts have completed the 4 th in series of 5 spacewalks to fix the Hubble space telescope. The spacewalks are meant to extend the life of the 19-year-old telescope for at least 5 more years. Astronauts replaced the power supply for a powerful instrument. The instrument makes it possible for the American Space Agency NASA to identify black holes and to observe systems of stars.
