答案                        Should Euthanasia Be Legalized?
    There are some heated arguments as to the question whether a person with an incurable illness should be permitted to die as he or she wants. Some people hold that when the patient is still conscious and able to express himself, we should talk to him and find out his own opinion. If both the patient and his family do not want to. suffer from diseases any more and the doctors also declare that the disease is incurable, we should show respect for the patient’s own opinion and do our best for him The rationale of this view is that the best we can do for a dying person is to satisfy his last wishes.
    However, some people stand in opposition to the legalization of euthanasia. The possible situation is that the patient is no longer able to express himself. In this case, we have no way to find out his opinion and thus should not be allowed to deprive him of his right to live on. Meanwhile, it is really unacceptable in terms of emotion for the patient’s family to sign a file which will take away one of their family members for ever.
    In short, euthanasia helps extricate both incurable patients and their families from the painful situation. However, to practice euthanasia needs further research and discussion，for it involves many medical and ethical problems．
