    There is a general discussion today about the issue of the divorce rate. As can be seen from the chart, great changes have been taking place. Obviously, China has experienced a dramatic increase in the divorce rate in the previous thirty years.
    For one thing, individuals’ attitude toward family has changed radically. They no longer deem family life as important as, if not more important than, their career, and some even prefer to sacrifice their marriage in pursuit of their career.  For another, young people nowadays tend to rush into marriage with few notions of what love and marriage are.  This is especially true for some college students who are trying every means to kill their boring spare time. This immature love, then, leads to a hasty marriage, which is destined to be abortive in the end.
    To sum up, this Manning increase currently should be taken seriously. It is not just a personal affair but a social phenomenon as well. In order to curb this unhealthy trend, the sense of family should be promoted and the whole society should pay more attention to ensure that people’s wedded life is as happy as expected.
