答案    In the USA, students generally hunt for an independent life after 18. By contrast, most college students in present China, as the sole child of their families, take their excessive dependence upon their parents for granted. For one thing, they think that their parents are responsible for furnishing them with all the tuitions and living expenses which have been used for having expensive dinners and birthday celebrations. For another, they seldom take part-time jobs to alleviate their parents of their burdens.
   What on earth contributes to the phenomenon of "the Elderly-Devouring Community"? First of all, it is the long-time over-indulgence on the part of parents that results in their excessive dependence. Besides, the indolence and selfishness on the part of students themselves are other key factors.
   From my perspective, it is high time that we took effective measures to diminish this phenomenon. Compared with their American counterparts, Chinese students should feel ashamed of themselves and take immediate actions to stop their excessive dependence upon their parents and pursue an independent and bright future.
